AI doomerism / Decel

A pejorative term used by e/acc to describe the safety-focused community (Hinton, Bengio, Russell, Anthropic). "Decel" = decelerationist. Despite being intended as an insult, part of the safety community has adopted it with pride. It shows that AI discourse in 2024-25 became ideological, not just technical.
