Diffusion LLMs (dLLM)

An alternative to autoregression: language models that generate entire sequences in parallel through iterative denoising, rather than token by token. The promise is lower latency and higher throughput, though evidence for production-grade dLLMs is still scarce. The commercial pioneer was Inception Labs (Mercury, 2025).
