Epistemic miscalibration
A reinterpretation of the phenomenon of "hallucination" adapted to reasoning models: a divergence between the actual correctness of a response and the confidence the model expresses. It is dangerous because the system can present incorrect conclusions in a coherent and seemingly logically flawless way. A term from the debate on LLM evaluation (Narayanan).
